NGO NETWORK FOR HEALTHY LIVING
The project derives from a holistic approach to health and an awareness of the need to establish a lifestyle which enables improvement to the quality of life and the achievement of full physical, mental and spiritual health. The project aims to connect non-governmental organizations which share the same goal of working towards increasing the number of people leading healthy lifestyles. The emphasis is on the prevention of disease/ the project has a preventative focus. The network also includes non-governmental organizations which run programmes to improve the quality of life of those living with certain illnesses.
The unexploited potential of NGOs in this area lie primarily in promoting cooperation and the pooling of interests to enable joint participation in civil dialogue. This project represents an opportunity for NGOs to unite and pursue their common interests and to devise a plan of acquisition of certain public functions.
Results and impacts of the project will be as follows: updated website on a daily basis with forums, regular meetings and consultations with Network members, execution of a series of trainings for members, the creation of incentives for civil dialogue and implementation of promotional campaigns.
The project runs from 1.6.2009 to 10.10.2010. The amount of the total project cost is estimated at € 169.724 of which the amount of eligible project costs € 157.520. The recipient will be co-financed 100% of eligible public expenditure. For the financing of eligible public expenditure the European Union contributes 85% of public funds and the Republic of Slovenia 15% of public funds.
